FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT
During the last RC LACE Council meeting there were several ideas to improve the maintenance-phasing situation for
ALADIN and among others there was an idea to organise a "maintenance" workshop for those who is now working on the
local maintenance of ALADIN, who was already taking part in Toulouse in a phasing action and who are going to take part
in such actions in the future. The main objective of such workshop is to increase the knowledge around maintenance
together with the increase of experience and number of people on this important area.
TECHNICAL CONDITIONS:
The workshop will be held at the "training room" of the
Service. This room contains 10 PC-s, whiteboard and
projection possibilities. The maximum number of
participants can be therefore around 10 (so a selection of
candidates might be necessary). For the exercises the
Origin 2000 machine (16 processors) and the IBM Regatta
machine (32 processors) will be used.
EXPECTED PARTICIPANTS:
Participants are expected from every ALADIN country.
Necessary conditions for the application: knowledge and
previous experience on the ALADIN code.
ACCOMMODATION:
Some places are available at the guest room of the Service
(price: around 5 euros) and reasonable accommodation is
offered at Hotel Papillon situated few blocks from the
Service (approximate price: 30-40 euro/night).

Interested colleagues are kindly asked to express their

is also asked to add the main motivations and background of
the application. The deadline for applications is 30th of
July, 2002.
